Athens is one of the world’s oldest cities. Its recorded history spanning around 3.400 years and it is being inhabited since the 11th millennium B.C. E. Today, under the shadow of the Parthenon, the contemporary urban scenery of the sprawling city reflects its exciting history, its multi-cultural modern personality as well as the infrastructure and facilities.

Day 6: Istanbul, Turkey
Dive into this historic city, with dramatic architecture & colourful streets. Do not miss The Hagia Sophia constructed in 537 AD this monumental structure is still standing as a museum, see the outstanding tile work of The Blue Mosque. The Grand Bazaar is a wonderful marketplace is a kaleidoscope, of colourful lamps & spices. Descend below ground to see the mysterious Basilica Cistern, the cities ancient reservoir.
Day 7: Mykonos, Greece
Explore this quintessential Greek island with pristine white houses with blue accents and beautiful beaches. Once you’ve seen one of the famous sunsets, you’ll understand why this is the most visited island in the region!
Day 8: Katakolon (Olympia), Greece
This quaint little seaside town on the Ionian Sea is the gateway to Ancient Olympia, where Greek mythology was born and the first Olympiad was held. You may still be able to hear the distant echoes of the ancient Greeks cheering as you tour the ruins of one of the most important and exciting sanctuaries of antiquity.
Day 9: Messina (Sicily), Italy
Stroll through Messina’s Piazza Cairoli taking in magnificent fountains and cathedrals, or sip Marsala wine at a sidewalk cafe. Messina welcomes cruise ship visitors with its lovely harbour, extraordinary architecture (much of which survived a disastrous earthquake and tidal wave in 1908) and wonderful food.
Day 10: Naples, Italy
Cruise to Naples, located on Italy’s stunning Amalfi coast, a city embellished in history. Touring around Naples’ grand piazzas, cathedrals and castles in the old centre will fill that cultural need. Pompeii is not too far either, a dashing city which boasts diverse cultural offerings and charming streets.
Day 11: Florence (Livorno), Italy
Florence, capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, is home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. Florence’s most iconic sights are the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio & Piazza della Signoria. Florence is also home to the famous David of Michelangelo statue. Florence is a beautiful city best explored by foot, however if you wish to venture away from the city, Florence may be your starting point for a day trip to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa, explore the Tuscan villages, or the colourful seaside towns of Cinque Terre.
Day 12: Rome, Italy
Endless adventures await in Rome. With two and a half thousand years of history, art and culture, it is no wonder Rome is one of the most visited cities on the planet. Gaze at the masterpieces of the Vatican or walk into the past with visits to ancient relics, historic monuments and legendary museums. Or people-watch while sipping on an espresso in a quaint cafe.
Day 13: Florence / Pisa (La Spezia), Italy
Today you’ll have the opportunity to snap that perfect picture, supporting the Leaning Tower of Pisa then enjoying a pizza. Travel to Florence for more delicious Italian cuisine, be enamoured by the Duomo and Michelangelo’s “David” statue right before the beautiful sunset over the Arno River.
Day 14: Villefranche, France
Villefranche-sur-Mer is a commune in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region on the French Riviera, located close to the Principality of Monaco. This beautiful coastal location has been home to many movies over the years including Alfred Hitchcock’s To Catch a Thief, The Count of Monte Cristo, Never Say Never Again and The Bourne Identity. You’ll find an abundance of historical churches, chapels and other public buildings including the Citadel built in 1557, which is now home to the Town Hall, convention centre, three museums and an open-air theatre.
Day 15: Provence (Marseille), France
Marseilles is France’s oldest city, though the vibe would argue differently. The vibrant arts scene and food culture instil a sense of youth in to this beautiful and historic port city where ships have docked for more than 26 centuries.
Day 16: Barcelona, Spain
Welcome to the cultural hub of Spain, Barcelona! Explore the stunning sights such as the Sagrada Familia and enjoy the local tapas for some truly delicious cuisine.
Day 17: Palma De Mallorca, Spain
The city was founded 2100 years ago and is overflowing with history. Wander the cobblestone streets and alleyways that surround the Gothic cathedral as the focal point of Palma.
Day 18: Ibiza, Spain
Ibiza is located just off the eastern coast of Spain, home to summertime festivities like no other. Aside from it’s party symbolism, Ibiza is a beautiful island with magical inlets, crystal clear waters and secluded beaches.
Day 19: Gibraltar, British Overseas Territory
Enjoy stunning views from the Rock, 400 metres above the city. Browse the many shops and head to a local pub for some delicious fish and chips. Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory and headland, on Spain’s south coast. It’s dominated by the Rock of Gibraltar, a 426m-high limestone ridge. First settled by the Moors in the Middle Ages and later ruled by Spain, the outpost was ceded to the British in 1713. Layers of fortifications include the remains of a 14th-century Moorish Castle and the 18th century Great Siege Tunnels, which were expanded in WWII
Day 20: Malaga, Spain
An exploration of Malaga will leave you intrigued with its blend of Arabian and European influences. The trip is only complete with a visit to The Alhambra, a fine example of Moorish art.
Day 21: Cadiz, Spain
Historic, mysterious and romantic, the Spanish city of Cadiz is unique. It is generally considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited settlement in Europe founded in around 1100 BC. An ancient port city in southwest Spain, almost completely surrounded by water, it contains enough history to enchant and intrigue you throughout your Cadiz cruise.
Day 22: Lisbon, Portugal
Welcome to the hilly, coastal capital of Portugal. The views from Sao Jorge Castle will allow you to spot the cities pastel coloured buildings, Tagus Estuary Natural Reserve and the suspension bridge. Venturing slightly outside of the city opens you up to beautiful beaches from Cascais to Estoril!

Funchal is sheltered by hills, and recognised for its harbour, gardens and Madeira wine cellars. The centuries-old Cathedral mixes Gothic and Roman styles, with the carved wooden ceiling as its pièce de résistance. Fronting the harbour is the São Tiago Fortress, built in the 1600s and now houses the Contemporary Art Museum, with a large collection of Portuguese inspired pieces.
