The tour visits the beautiful Trevi fountain, then Piazza Colonna, to view the impressive Column in honour of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Walk on through Rome’s cobbled streets, to baroque Piazza Montecitorio. Visit the Pantheon (with an internal tour), erected by Emperor Hadrian during the 2nd century AD and preserving the biggest dome in the world. Continue on to Palazzo Madama, seat of the Senate of the Italian Republic before arriving at Piazza Navona, famous for Bernini’s ornate Fountain of the Four Rivers. Enjoy free time to explore Rome for the rest of the day.

Day 3: Rome - Siena

Leave Rome after breakfast this morning and travel north east into the beauty of Tuscany. Siena is a stunningly beautiful medieval city, with easy to navigate cobbled streets and an impressive central piazza, ideal for a relaxing meal and people watching. Enjoy free time after checking in to your hotel today.

Day 4: Siena - Florence

Drive on to Florence today. A half day fully guided tour will introduce the heart of the city, starting with a visit to the Basilica of the Holy Cross, final resting place of such Italian greats as Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli and Rossini. See the majestic Uffuzi Gallery, with time to visit (optional, not included). Take in the unique street life of Florence as you walk the winding old streets to the Ponte Vecchio, the 600 year-old arched bridge spanning the Arno River. Take advantage of free time this afternoon to further explore the city.

Day 5: Florence – Pisa

Take the short journey up to Pisa today. The seaside town most famous for the Leaning Tower, is also an esteemed university town. It’s well preserved Romanesque buildings, Gothic churches and Renaissance piazzas are home to a vibrant local culture.

Day 6: Pisa – Cinque Terre - Pisa

After breakfast today, head to the famous and beautiful Cinque Terre coast. Enjoy a short local train ride into one of the 5 spectacular ocean-locked villages, with winding paths, boat filled bays and tiny cafes. Paved walks connect the villages and criss-cross the surrounding hills and are a beautiful way to explore this dramatic coastline. Later, train back to the coach and return to Pisa (approx. 1 hour) to dine and relax for the evening.

Day 7: Pisa - Venice (Mestre)

Your tour of Italy crosses from the West to East coast today. Observe the changing landscapes as you travel in comfort from Tuscany to the Venetia region. After check in to your Mestre hotel, take a boat transfer onto Venice and experience a unique guided tour of Vecchia Murano – a traditional glass blowing factory, housed in a beautiful Venetian Palace.

Day 8: Venice, Italy

Today’s 2 hour guided tour starts in the magnificent Piazza San Marco, the hub of Venice. See the Clock Tower, Napoleonic Wing and visit Basilica of San Marco, with its breathtaking Byzantine mosaics and glowing leadlight windows. The tour concludes after walking over the famous Rialto Bridge, one of the oldest and most important bridges in Venice, spanning the Grand Canal. The rest of the day is free to your own exploration.

Day 9: Depart Venice onboard MSC Sinfonia

After a leisurely start to the day, be transferred to the Cruise Terminal to embark the wonderful MSC Sinfonia. Drinks package onboard included.

Day 10: Kotor, Montenegro

Welcome to this beautiful port town in Montenegro. Gaze upon terracotta roofs, clear waters and fresh local seafood right by the sea. This is the perfect destination to sit back and relax amongst the towering mountains of Montenegro.

Day 11: At Sea

Your day at sea will allow you to take full advantage of everything the ship has to offer. Seek out hidden treasures and make the most of the facilities onboard. All of the ships activities can be found on the vessels daily newsletter. If relaxation is on your mind then your sea day will allow you to sit back, soak in ship life and watch the world as it floats by you.

Day 12: Mykonos, Greece

Explore this quintessential Greek island with pristine white houses with blue accents and beautiful beaches. Once you’ve seen one of the famous sunsets, you’ll understand why this is the most visited island in the region!

Day 13: Santorini, Greece

Santorini is one of the most formidable islands in the world, famed for beautiful food, pristine water and unrivalled sunsets, in the foreground are the post card whitewashed buildings. Perceptions are had about the lost city of Atlantis being located here due to Santorini’s subtle mystery.

Day 14: Sarande, Albania

Sarande boasts gorgeous beaches and wonderful blue seas. Despite being one of the most modern cities in the region, it boasts a wealth of historic gems for visitors to explore, as well as sites of outstanding natural beauty. Feast your eyes, for example, on the glorious Roman remains of Butrint, a classical wonder recently restored to its former glory and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the imposing 19th century Ali Pasha Tepeleni Castle overlooking the Adriatic Sea, or visit the nearby karst spring of Syri Kalter (The Blue Eye), a stunningly colourful natural phenomenon.

Day 15: Bari, Italy

The old city of Bari, an entrancing jumble of streets that are possibly the most mind-bending place to walk around in southern Italy. Situated at the far end of Corso Cavour, its labyrinth of seemingly endless passages, weaving through courtyards and under arches, were originally designed to spare the inhabitants from the wind and throw invaders into a state of confusion. Basilica di San Nicola, consecrated in 1197 to house the relics of the saint plundered a century earlier, the real beauty of the church lies in its stonework, but best of all is the twelfth-century episcopal throne behind the altar. Travel inland to see, Matera, situated on the edge of a ravine & dates from the Middle Ages when monks built rock-hewn churches and monasteries which is now a intricate series of terraced caves.

Day 16: Venice, Italy

You could start a discussion about Venice by praising its restaurants, wine bars, marble churches or blown glass. But you probably won’t. You’ll likely start with the fact that Venice is built on water. It is a place where people either float slowly down palace-lined man-made waterways or stroll down narrow alleyways. There’s no more of an extraordinary place to find yourself, or lose yourself.

Even before MSC Sinfonia sets sail, stepping on board is like embarking on a voyage of discovery. This is one of MSC’s medium-sized Mistral-class ships, that underwent a two-year refurbishment program. Spacious new cabins with balconies delight guests with superb panoramic views the restaurant and buffet areas to serve up an even greater variety of culinary treats. Enjoy this unforgettable experience as you cruise to some unforgettable destinations.
