Day 1 – 2: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Welcome to Buenos Aires! The capital of Argentina is filled with iconic 19th century buildings including the presidential palace. Other attractions include Teatro Colón, an impressive 1908 opera house with close to 2,500 seats, and the modern MALBA museum which showcases incredible Latin American art. Enjoy a 2 night stay in this charming city.
Day 3: Ushuaia, Argentina
Embark a early morning charter flight arranged by Ponant to travel to Ushuaia this morning.
Ushuaia is known for its beautiful wilderness of snow-capped mountains and icy waters of the Beagle Channel. Upon arrival, you will get the chance to explore Tierra del Fuego National Park which epitomises the natural terrain in the world’s most southern national park with your included day tour.
Board your cruise this afternoon & sail onwards to Antarctica.
Day 4 – 5 At Sea
Enjoy relaxing days at seas. Take advantage of your onboard team of Naturalists and guides who will be able to provide you with the history of the area and a plethora of information about the local wildlife. They will also provide you with important safety information for your time ashore.
Day 6 – 10 Antarctic Peninsular
Throughout your adventure in this icy realm, you will find yourself in the heart of a spectacular decor in subtle shades of blue and white, surrounded by exceptional wildlife. Penguins, humpback whales, seals and giant petrels are at home here, as are elephant seals, fur seals, Antarctic minke whales, and orcas.
Each day, based on ice conditions, the Captain and the Expedition Leader will suggest Zodiac® outings or landings to discover the infinite riches of the Antarctic Peninsula. Glaciers, ice floe, tabletop icebergs, mountain peaks that plunge straight into the sea, volcanic beaches, research stations, enchanting bays, and vestiges of the whaling industry: these are the faces of the Antarctic that will likely reveal themselves to you, in a hushed and surreal atmosphere.
Day 11-12 At Sea
Your days at sea will allow you to take full advantage of everything the ship has to offer. Seek out hidden treasures and make the most of the facilities onboard. All of the ship’s activities can be found in the vessel’s daily newsletter. If relaxation is on your mind then your sea day will allow you to sit back, soak in ship life and watch the world as it floats by you.
Day 13: Ushuaia, Argentina – Buenos Aires
Disembark your cruise this morning and embark your charter flight to return to Buenos Aires where you will spend one final night in this vibrant city.
Day 14 -15 Santiago, Chile
Fly from Buenos Aires to Santiago and ejnoy a 2 night stay In Chile’s capital and largest city, surrounded by the towering Andes and Chilean coastline. Plaza de Armas, the centre of the city’s colonial core is home to 2 enthralling landmarks: the 1808 Palacio de la Real Audiencia, which houses the National History Museum, and the 18th-century Metropolitan Cathedral.
You will also enjoy a day tour out to the Wine Region where you can explore vineyards & indluge in tastings.
Day 16 Santiago, Chile
Farewell Santiago as you fly home today or ask us about our flexible flights and extend your stay to see more of South America.
