Day 1: Venice, Italy

You could start a discussion about Venice by praising its restaurants, wine bars, marble churches or blown glass. But you probably won’t. You’ll likely start with the fact that Venice is built on water. It is a place where people either float slowly down palace-lined man-made waterways or stroll down narrow alleyways. There’s no more of an extraordinary place to find yourself, or lose yourself.

Day 2: Split, Croatia

This Mediterranean city on the eastern shores of the Adriatic has a long and eventful history dating back to the awesome Diocletian’s Palace (circa 295 A.D.) in the centre of the city. Split offers cruise guests a wealth of exciting places to visit, from the majestic cathedral and marble streets in the centre of town to the harbour area with its cafe-filled promenades and views of coastal mountains.

Day 3: Dubrovnik, Croatia

Despite the magnificent 13th century walls that surround the city, Dubrovnik is one of the most welcoming cruise destinations in all of Europe. Dubbed “the pearl of the Adriatic”, this Croatian city exudes romantic charm and beautiful scenery with its shimmering marble streets, centuries-old buildings capped by bright orange roofs and lovely beaches ensconced between awesome rocky ledges.

Day 4: Kotor, Montenegro

Welcome to this beautiful port town in Montenegro. Gaze upon terracotta roofs, clear waters and fresh local seafood right by the sea. This is the perfect destination to sit back and relax amongst the towering mountains of Montenegro.

Day 5: Corfu, Greece

One of the lushest of the Greek Isles, Corfu is rimmed in dramatic blue waters and topped with tranquil hillside villages. A collection of quaint cafes in the town of Corfu feels very continental, but the island’s secluded coves and sandy beaches could only be found in the Greek Isles.

Day 6: Messina (Sicily), Italy

Stroll through Messina’s Piazza Cairoli taking in magnificent fountains and cathedrals, or sip Marsala wine at a sidewalk cafe. Messina welcomes cruise ship visitors with its lovely harbour, extraordinary architecture (much of which survived a disastrous earthquake and tidal wave in 1908) and wonderful food.

Day 7: Naples, Italy

Cruise to Naples, located on Italy’s stunning Amalfi coast, a city embellished in history. Touring around Naples’ grand piazzas, cathedrals and castles in the old centre will fill that cultural need. Pompeii is not too far either, a dashing city which boasts diverse cultural offerings and charming streets.

Day 8: Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy

Endless adventures await in Rome. With two and a half thousand years of history, art and culture, it is no wonder Rome is one of the most visited cities on the planet. Gaze at the masterpieces of the Vatican or walk into the past with visits to ancient relics, historic monuments and legendary museums. Or people-watch while sipping on an espresso in a quaint cafe.

Day 9: Florence (Livorno), Italy

Florence, capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, is home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. Florence's most iconic sights are the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio & Piazza della Signoria. Florence is also home to the famous David of Michelangelo statue. Florence is a beautiful city best explored by foot, however if you wish to venture away from the city, Florence may be your starting point for a day trip to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa, explore the Tuscan villages, or the colourful seaside towns of Cinque Terre.

Day 10: Provence (Marseille), France

Marseilles is France’s oldest city, though the vibe would argue differently. The vibrant arts scene and food culture instil a sense of youth in to this beautiful and historic port city where ships have docked for more than 26 centuries.

Day 11: Barcelona, Spain

Welcome to the cultural hub of Spain, Barcelona! Explore the stunning sights such as the Sagrada Familia and enjoy the local tapas for some truly delicious cuisine.

Having recently undergone a grand refurbishment, the Norwegian Star has it all. Tantalise your taste buds as you make your way around the 15 delectable dining options, sip specialty cocktails at your choice of 10 bars and lounges, get your hit of R&R at the world-class spa or experience the thrilling casino like a VIP. On the plush Norwegian Star, indulge in optional first-rate accommodation features such as dedicated concierge and butler services; a luxury bath and shower; private balcony; lavish living and dining rooms; minibar; and a whirlpool hot tub! Whether you want to encounter outstanding live entertainment, hit up the epic sports centre, or soak your way to renewal at the Thermal Spa Suite, the Norwegian Star is the ship for you.
