After breakfast, enjoy a city tour starting from the magnificent Piazza San Marco, one of the most beautiful squares in the world and the centre of Venetian life. On the north side of the square stands the Clock Tower and the Procuratie Vecchie, to the west is the Napoleonic wing and on the south, Procuratie Nuove. The Basilica of San Marco and the Palazzo Ducale – the symbolic monuments of the Venetian Republic – stand in the background of the square. Inside the church, admire the ornate décor and magnificent Byzantine mosaics. Then walk to the Rialto Bridge, one of the most beautiful bridges and symbols of the town, and conclude with a visit to the Vecchia Murano to view beautiful hand-blown glassworks. (B)

Day 3: Mestre – Verona – Milan

Enjoy your morning in Mestre before traveling to pristine Verona. Here experience a BONUS City tour. Visit the still-used Verona Arena, Castelvecchio as seen from the river, Porta Corsari (a roman gate of the first century AD), and the impressive Ponte Pietra (stone bridge). Wrap up the tour with a visit to Juliet’s house to view the famous balcony visited by Romeo. Conclude today with the trip to Milan, where you can relax for the evening. (B)

Day 4: Milan, Italy

Famous throughout the world as the Italian economic capital of fashion and design, Milan is also art, history, and culture! Today in Milan enjoy your BONUS city tour starting from the Castello Sforzesco with a visit to the external architecture and garden. From the castle walk towards the Duomo, admiring the elegant buildings that surround Via Dante and Via Dei Mercanti, two historic streets of Milan, headquarters of the big insurance companies. Piazza del Duomo is the heart of Milan; the Duomo is one of the most significant monuments of the Gothic style, where German influences are softened by the work of local masters. From Piazza Duomo, you will then walk through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele until Piazza Della Scala, which is overlooked by important buildings such as the most famous theater in the world: La Scala. Outdoor tour.

Day 5: Milan – Lake Como – Genoa

This morning take the scenic drive to Lake Como, a highlight on your Italian adventure. The BONUS tour will start from Piazza del Duomo with a splendid cathedral, neoclassical theatre, and Casa. Wandering through the historic town centre, reach the Romanesque basilica of San Fedele and the medieval walls that surround the city. Then, experience Lake Como from the water on a one-hour boat trip past some of the most iconic lakeside villages. Travel to Genoa and relax for the evening. (B)

Day 6: Genoa – La Spezia – Florence

Drive to La Spezia, gateway to the Cinque Terre; ‘Five Lands’. Comprised of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore, the coastline, villages and surrounding hillsides form the UNESCO listed Cinque Terre National Park. Look out for the carefully built terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. Only paths, trains, and boats connect the villages, cars cannot reach them from the outside. After the scenic local train trip into Cinque Terre, enjoy your included guided tour. Later continue your adventure on to Florence. (B)

Day 7: Florence – Siena – Montepulciano – Rome

Travel from Florence to Siena and explore Tuscany today. Starting from Piazza San Domenico be guided through the historic and beautifully preserved streets and piazzas of the old city. Admire the fourteenth-century Palazzo Salimbeni and continue onto Palazzo Tolomei; the oldest private palace of the city, constructed in 1205. Then enter Piazza del Duomo, one of Italy’s finest examples of the Gothic style. Your tour ends in Piazza del Campo, a beautiful medieval square. After Siena travel into Tuscany where you will enjoy your BONUS wine tasting today in the beautiful town of Montepulciano. Later continue your adventure to Rome. (B)

Day 8: Rome, Italy

With two and a half thousand years of history, art, and culture, it is no wonder Rome is one of the most visited cities on the planet. After breakfast, today, enjoy a guided tour of the Vatican and its museums. See ornate candelabras, furniture, and tapestries, view historic maps and priceless artworks. Visit the Sistine Chapel to view frescos of the Genesis and the Last Judgment. Then take an internal tour of Saint Peter’s Basilica, to take in Michelangelo’s Pietà; the marble statue of Mary holding the body of Jesus. Finally, visit impressive Saint Peter’s Square. The rest of the day is free for your relaxation or further sightseeing around Rome. (B)

Your day at sea will allow you to take full advantage of everything the ship has to offer. Seek out hidden treasures and make the most of the facilities onboard. All of the ship’s activities can be found in the vessel’s daily newsletter. Day 11: Santorini, Greece

Santorini is one of the most formidable islands in the world, famed for beautiful food, pristine water, and unrivaled sunsets, in the foreground are the postcard whitewashed buildings. Perceptions are had about the lost city of Atlantis being located here due to Santorini’s subtle mystery.

Day 12: Athens, Greece

Welcome to Piraeus, the port city of Athens. It is the oldest city in Greece, a guaranteed highlight is the mystical Acropolis, perched high in the hills. Just because this city is vintage don’t think that you’ll be stuck in the past – it is juxtaposed against a modern city filled with shopping, restaurants, culture, and beautiful art.

Day 13: Mykonos, Greece

Explore this quintessential Greek island with pristine white houses with blue accents and beautiful beaches. Once you’ve seen one of the famous sunsets, you’ll understand why this is the most visited island in the region!

Day 14: Corfu, Greece

One of the lushest of the Greek Isles, Corfu is rimmed in dramatic blue waters and topped with tranquil hillside villages. A collection of quaint cafes in the town of Corfu feels very continental, but the island’s secluded coves and sandy beaches could only be found in the Greek Isles.

Day 15: Dubrovnik, Croatia

Despite the magnificent 13th century walls that surround the city, Dubrovnik is one of the most welcoming cruise destinations in all of Europe. Dubbed “the pearl of the Adriatic”, this Croatian city exudes romantic charm and beautiful scenery with its shimmering marble streets, centuries-old buildings capped by bright orange roofs and lovely beaches ensconced between awesome rocky ledges.

Day 16: Messina (Sicily), Italy

Stroll through Messina’s Piazza Cairoli taking in magnificent fountains and cathedrals, or sip Marsala wine at a sidewalk cafe. Messina welcomes cruise ship visitors with its lovely harbour, extraordinary architecture (much of which survived a disastrous earthquake and tidal wave in 1908), and wonderful food.

Day 17: Naples, Italy

Cruise to Naples, located on Italy’s stunning Amalfi coast, a city embellished in history. Touring around Naples’ grand piazzas, cathedrals, and castles in the old centre will fill that cultural need. Pompeii is not too far either, a dashing city that boasts diverse cultural offerings and charming streets.

Day 18: Florence (Livorno), Italy

Florence, the capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, is home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. Florence’s most iconic sights are the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio & Piazza della Signoria. Florence is also home to the famous David of Michelangelo statue. Florence is a beautiful city best explored on foot, however, if you wish to venture away from the city, Florence may be your starting point for a day trip to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa, explore the Tuscan villages, or the colorful seaside towns of Cinque Terre.

Day 19: Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy

Disembark from the Norwegian Breakaway and make your way to the airport for your return flight home.
