Day 1: Arrive Dubrovnik
Welcome to Croatia! Be transferred to your hotel to check in and relax for the rest of the day.
Day 2: Dubrovnik (B)
Take in some of Dubrovnik’s famous landmarks and ancient city centre on a half day tour today. Visit the Rectors Palace and the ancient Franciscan Church – home to a still-practicing 13th century pharmacy. Walk along some of the city’s iconic fortress walls, with stunning views into the old city and out over the Adriatic Sea.
Day 3: Dubrovnik – Split (B)
After breakfast at the hotel this morning, travel north along the breathtaking Adriatic Coast and through the Neretva River Delta to the coastal city of Split. Explore the charming streets of this UNESCO World Heritage listed city, including a visit into the sprawling and beautifully preserved 4th-century Diocletian’s Palace, built for the Roman emperor. The rest of the day is free to relax or further discover Split at your own pace.
Day 4: Split – Zadar (B)
After the scenic drive to Zadar, join an experienced local guide on a walking tour of Zadar’s lovely old town. Visit St. Donatus’ Church, a landmark of the city of Zadar from the early Middle Ages and view St. Anastasia’s Cathedral, built with the iconic local white Istrian stone. The walk concludes at Zadar’s pier, site of the famous Sea Organ: Set within perforated stone stairs that descend into the sea, is a system of pipes and whistles that produces wistful sighs when the movement of the sea pushes air through it. You can swim from the steps off the promenade while listening to the sounds.
Relax with free time for the rest of the day.
Day 5: Zadar – Plitvice Lakes – Zagreb (B)
Take in views of Croatian countryside while travelling inland to Plitvice Lakes this morning. A National Park tour (approx. 3 hours) highlights the incredible natural beauty of the park, renowned for its 16 lakes arranged in cascades with colours ranging from azure to green, grey or blue. The lakes are interconnected and follow the water flow. The tour – consisting of walks, train rides and crossing the Kozjak lake by boat – takes place in a pristine natural environment.
Later today, talk a guided walk through Zagreb. Start in the Lower Town and view dramatic Baroque and Romanesque architecture. See the old University Library, Mimara Museum and National Theatre. Then wander through the fortified Upper Town and its monuments, to conclude at Zagreb Cathedral.
Day 6: Zagreb – Lake Bled – Ljubljana (B)
Cross the border into Slovenia today and travel to the traditional Alpen resort town of Bled. This incredibly photogenic region features pristine mountains and deep forest encircling a glacial lake. Take a short boat ride out to the island in the centre of the lake. It houses a church and wishing bell steeped in local history.
On arrival into Ljubljana, enjoy a 2 hour (approx.) guided tour of Slovenia’s vibrant capital city. Cross the famous Triple Bridge, visit Central Market Hall – considered one of the most beautiful in Europe and view the varied architecture for which ‘Europe’s Greenest City’ is famous.
Day 7: Ljubljana – Postojna Caves – Mestre (Venice region) (B)
Today’s journey to Italy includes a stop at Postojna Cave, one of the world’s largest karst monuments, comprised of a vast web of tunnels, passages and stunning halls.
Later in the day, tour Venice, starting at magnificent Piazza San Marco, the hub of the city. See the Clock Tower, Napoleonic Wing and visit Basilica of San Marco, with its breathtaking Byzantine mosaics and glowing leadlight windows. The tour concludes after walking over the famous Rialto Bridge, one of the oldest and most important bridges in Venice, spanning the Grand Canal. The rest of the day is free for your own exploration.
Day 8: Depart Venice onboard MSC Sinfonia (B)
After breakfast and a leisurely start to the day, be transferred to the Cruise Terminal to embark the wonderful MSC Sinfonia and start your cruise.
Day 9: Montenegro, Kotor
Welcome to this beautiful port town in Montenegro. Gaze upon terracotta roofs, clear waters and fresh local seafood right by the sea. This is the perfect destination to sit back and relax amongst the towering mountains of Montenegro.
Day 10: At Sea
Your day at sea will allow you to take full advantage of everything the ship has to offer. Seek out hidden treasures and make the most of the facilities onboard. All of the ships activities can be found on the vessels daily newsletter. If relaxation is on your mind then your sea day will allow you to sit back, soak in ship life and watch the world as it floats by you.
Day 11: Mykonos, Greece
Explore this quintessential Greek island with pristine white houses with blue accents and beautiful beaches. Once you’ve seen one of the famous sunsets, you’ll understand why this is the most visited island in the region!
Day 12: Santorini, Greece
Santorini is one of the most formidable islands in the world, famed for beautiful food, pristine water and unrivalled sunsets, in the foreground are the post card whitewashed buildings. Perceptions are had about the lost city of Atlantis being located here due to Santorini’s subtle mystery.
Day 13: Sarande, Albania
Sarande boasts gorgeous beaches and wonderful blue seas. Despite being one of the most modern cities in the region, it boasts a wealth of historic gems for visitors to explore, as well as sites of outstanding natural beauty.
Day 14: Bari, Italy
The old city of Bari, an entrancing jumble of streets that are possibly the most mind-bending place to walk around in southern Italy. Situated at the far end of Corso Cavour, its labyrinth of seemingly endless passages, weaving through courtyards and under arches, were originally designed to spare the inhabitants from the wind and throw invaders into a state of confusion. Basilica di San Nicola, consecrated in 1197 to house the relics of the saint plundered a century earlier, the real beauty of the church lies in its stonework, but best of all is the twelfth-century episcopal throne behind the altar.
Day `15: Disembark MSC Sinfonia Venice, Italy
