Day 1-2: Papeete, Tahiti – French Polynesia

Welcome to Papeete! Discover the vast array of sea life on a diving excursion, tour the island by car and take in the spectacular views, or learn about the history of Tahiti on a boat trip around the Lagoon. Enjoy 2 nights hotel stay to explore this amazing city.

Day 3: Papeete, Tahiti – French Polynesia

Embark your 26 night Tahiti, Cook islands and New Zealand cruise from Papeete onboard Azamara Onward.

Day 4: Raiatea, French Polynesia

Welcome to the French Polynesian island of Raiatea, considered by the Tahitians as a sacred island. It was the centre of their religion and culture over a thousand years ago. Visit the ancient marea (Tahitian temples) while on the island, widely thought to be the best-preserved historical site in Polynesia.

Day 5-6: Bora Bora, French Polynesia

You have now arrived in Bora Bora! A must visit is the spectacular underwater world of the region, whether by glass-bottomed boat, snorkelling, diving or on an Aqua Safari Helmet Dive. You’ll be greeted by an array of marine life, coral reefs and crystal clear water.

Day 7: At Sea

Your day at sea will allow you to take full advantage of everything the ship has to offer. Seek out hidden treasures and make the most of the facilities onboard. All of the ship’s activities can be found in the vessel’s daily newsletter. If relaxation is on your mind then your sea day will allow you to sit back, soak in ship life and watch the world as it floats by you.

Day 8: Aitutaki Atoll, Cook Islands

Aitutaki is one of the Cook Islands, which are in the South Pacific. It consists of a main island, a turquoise lagoon and a surrounding barrier reef. The lagoon’s waters teem with marine life, including rays, bonefish and turtles. Near the main town of Arutanga, trails lead to the top of Maunga Pu hill. Boats run to small uninhabited islands called motu, including tiny Tapuaetai, known for its white sand beaches.

Today you will cross over the international dateline. Remember to adjust your watches to the current time.

Day 14: Bay of Islands, New Zealand

Bay of Islands is the first place in New Zealand to be settled by the Europeans. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife as dolphins and other marine life are often spotted in this area! Walk through the forest to visit caves full of glow worms, go kayaking through the mangroves or take a historical tour of Kerikeri and Waitangi.

Day 15: Auckland, New Zealand

Auckland is surrounded by 48 erupted volcanic structures which are spread around the city and present some stunning views. This is also the best spot for the shop-a-holics on-board, spanning from luxury brands to open-air markets. If you’d prefer something involving nature, Auckland also has lush rain forests, coastal trails and sparkling beaches!

Day 16: Tauranga (Rotorua), New Zealand

Explore the towering extinct volcano on the island of Tauranga which boasts historic sights, picturesque waterfront views and easy access to pristine beaches, traditional culture and numerous outdoor adventures.

Day 17: Napier, New Zealand

Take your pick between fine art or fine wine, hint: both are a win! The quaint town was devastated by an earthquake in 1931 which inspired them to rebuild Art Deco style. The style is evident everywhere you look so bask in your surroundings with a stroll along Marine Parade or escape to the country to discover rolling vineyards.

Day 18: Wellington, New Zealand

Explore the charm of one of New Zealand’s most well-known cities, it may be compact but there is an abundance of activities to partake in. Step out of the city to the embrace of green hillsides or venture further to see the countryside and rugged coastline.

Day 19: Picton, New Zealand

You’re in wine country now, a short drive will find you in the midst of the Marlborough wine region. Otherwise you can spend the day embracing the shoreline in a kayak and swimming in the pristine waters.

Day 20: Christchurch, New Zealand

Christchurch, known for its English heritage, is located on the east coast of New Zealand’s South Island. Flat-bottomed punts glide on the Avon River, which meanders through the city centre. On its banks are cycling paths, the green expanse of Hagley Park and Christchurch Botanic Gardens.

Day 21: Dunedin, New Zealand

Embodying a Scottish heritage while shaped by a Victorian and Edwardian influence, you can feel right at home in the heart of this culturally rich city.

Day 22: Milford Sound, New Zealand

Ancestors believed a divine mason created this awe inspiring location. The fjord boasts unbelievable mountain ranges, enforced by Mitre Peak and cascading waterfalls that extend off cliff faces!
