Day 1: Tokyo, Japan

Yokohama has completely transformed over the past few decades and is now one of Japan’s largest ports and the gateway to Tokyo. Ancient traditions and historic sites blend into modern culture, crafting a city unlike anywhere else. In Tokyo, you can walk amongst neon-glowing skyscrapers and historical temples which make for a truly unmatched experience.

Day 2: Shimizu, Japan

In the shadow of Mount Fuji, Shimizu is one of the most beautiful ports in Japan. Walk through the pine groves of Miho, home to a 650-year-old Japanese black pine, or enjoy spectacular views of Mount Fuji from the lush, forested hill of Nihondaira. Take in the seascapes on a bay cruise, or learn of undersea delights at Japan's first sushi museum, and get a glimpse at feudal life in Japan in 200 BC at the archaeological site of Toro.

Day 3 - 4: Osaka, Japan

Osaka is renown for its modern architecture, nightlife and delicious street food. The 16th-century shogunate Osaka Castle has undergone countless restorations and remains as the city’s most historical landmark.

Day 5: Kochi, Japan

Engage with locals and indulge in local flavours in this welcoming city. The city centre was initially settled in 1601 as a town surrounding Kochi Castle, which is now one of the region's principal attractions. Discover the lovely Katsurahama beach area, where the Sakamoto Ryoma Memorial overlooks the sea and honors this legendary Japanese peace negotiator.

Day 6: Hiroshima, Japan

While paying tribute to the infamous nuclear attack that destroyed the city in 1945, Hiroshima is now defined as a beacon of peace and prides itself on its exceptional natural beauty. None more iconic than 300 cherry blossom trees in bloom at Peace Memorial Park and enjoy local delicacies.

Day 7: Beppu, Japan

Beppu is located on the southern Japanese island of Kyushu. Cast between Beppu Bay and volcanic mountains, it is well known for its large amount of onsen (hot springs), more than 2000 of them! Enjoy a nutrient rich bathing experience or visit Mount Tsurumi via cable car.

Day 8: At Sea

Your day at sea will allow you to take full advantage of everything the ship has to offer. Seek out hidden treasures and make the most of the facilities onboard. All of the ships activities can be found on the vessels daily newsletter. If relaxation is on your mind then your sea day will allow you to sit back, soak in ship life and watch the world as it floats by you.

Day 9: Busan, South Korea

It is Busan’s trading port that makes it an international metropolis while its beautiful sea vistas make it a charming place to unwind. Experience the serenity of Beomeo-sa Temple, climb the Busan Tower or rejuvenate at Hushimchung Spa.

Day 11: Hakodate, Japan

If Japan ever had a wild west, it was Hokkaido. Oh, all the classic movie stuff of samurai bashing each other with swords never made it this far north, but the image of the West—open spaces, places to disappear, actual land horizons (which no other island in Japan has)—lingers.

Day 12: Aomori, Japan

Here, nature and culture fuse as one. The Shirakami Mountains, which embrace the world's largest virgin forest of beech trees, have been awarded a World Heritage Site designation. Reminders of ancient times abound throughout Aomori Port as well, and you can also indulge in the serene atmosphere of the Sannai-Maruyama Ruins, Japan's largest, which are said to have been established around 4,000 to 5,000 BC. Stroll Aomori’s premiere Shinsen Ichiba seafood market where restaurateurs hand-pick fresh produce then slurp up delicious ramen noodles at one of its counter restaurants.
