Day 1-2: London, England
Welcome to London, where your 2 night hotel stay awaits you. One of the oldest of the world’s great cities – its history spanning nearly two millennia – and one of the most cosmopolitan and most visited cities. Immersed in history, London’s rich seams of eye-opening antiquity are everywhere. The city’s buildings are striking milestones in a unique and beguiling biography, and a great many of them – the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben – are instantly recognizable landmarks. London has something for everyone: from history and culture to fine food and good times.
Day 3: Southampton, England
Today, you will be transferred to the bustling port of Southampton Port to embark on your 27 Night Cruise from London to Venice onboard the brand new Norwegian Viva.
Day 4: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Amsterdam has been constructed entirely on stakes to sit above the cities water level. The Anne Frank House, The Hague and a Delft Blue Pottery Factory are merely a few of the sights that await your arrival in this beautifully eclectic city.
Day 5: Zeebrugge, Belgium
Zeebrugge is a Belgian port and seaside resort. It’s linked to the city of Bruges by the Baudouin Canal. The old fish market in the marina houses Seafront, a theme park focusing on the local seafaring and fishing heritage. Exhibits include a Russian submarine. In nearby Knokke-Heist, the For Freedom Museum evokes the area’s WWII history through dioramas. West along the coast are the De Fonteintjes wetland and dunes.
Day 6: Paris, France
Located along the Seine River, Paris is a collection of villages and the sprawl of cobbled lands. Iconic architecture reaches into the sky from the wrought-iron structure of the Eiffel Tower to the medieval times of the Notre Dame cathedral. Galleries, bistros, and boutiques all line the boulevards of Paris. The city of romance is alive and awaits you to explore its treasures.
Day 7: At Sea
Your day at sea will allow you to take full advantage of everything the ship has to offer. Seek out hidden treasures and make the most of the facilities onboard. All of the ship’s activities can be found in the vessel’s daily newsletter. If relaxation is on your mind then your sea day will allow you to sit back, soak in ship life and watch the world as it floats by you.
Day 8: Bordeaux (Le Verdon), France
An intoxicating cocktail of 18th-century savoir-faire, millennial hi-tech and urban street life, France’s sixth largest city is among Europe’s most exciting and gutsy players.
Day 9: Bilbao, Spain
The largest city of the Basque Country, Bilbao is magnificent mix of historic and spectacular modern architecture. Head to Casco Viejo to meander medieval streets and sample some of the best pinxtos (tapas) around. And don’t miss the massive, ultramodern Guggenheim Museum Bilbao across the river, featuring the works of leading artists of the 20th century.
Day 10: La Coruna, Spain
La Coruna, Spain’s port city and beachy hot spot in the north is known for its Roman lighthouse, the Tower of Hercules, which has sweeping coastal views. In the medieval old town is the arcaded Plaza de María Pita, surrounded by narrow pedestrianized lanes.
Day 11: Vigo, Spain
Vigo is a city on Spain’s northwest coast. The mouth of the nearby Vigo Estuary is sheltered by the Cíes Islands, which form part of the Atlantic Islands National Park. The Cíes are known for their rich birdlife and crescent-shaped Rodas Beach. The city’s old quarter is home to the neoclassical Church of Santa María. The Castro de Vigo archaeological site has reconstructed ancient dwellings
Day 12: Lisbon, Portugal
Enjoy a turnaround day in the hilly, coastal capital of Portugal. he views from Sao Jorge Castle will allow you to spot the cities pastel coloured buildings, Tagus Estuary Natural Reserve and the suspension bridge. Venturing slightly outside of the city opens you up to beautiful beaches from Cascais to Estoril!
Day 13: Cadiz, Spain
Historic, mysterious and romantic, the Spanish city of Cadiz is unique. It is generally considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited settlement in Europe founded in around 1100 BC. An ancient port city in southwest Spain, almost completely surrounded by water, it contains enough history to enchant and intrigue you throughout your Cadiz cruise.
Day 14: Malaga, Spain
An exploration of Malaga will leave you intrigued with its blend of Arabian and European influences. The trip is only complete with a visit to The Alhambra, a fine example of Moorish art.
Day 15: Ibiza, Spain
Ibiza is located just off the eastern coast of Spain, home to summertime festivities like no other. Aside from it’s party symbolism, Ibiza is a beautiful island with magical inlets, crystal clear waters and secluded beaches.
Day 16: Palma De Mallorca, Spain
The city was founded 2100 years ago and is overflowing with history. Wander the cobblestone streets and alleyways that surround the Gothic cathedral as the focal point of Palma.
Day 17: Barcelona, Spain
Welcome to the cultural hub of Spain, Barcelona! Explore the stunning sights such as the Sagrada Familia and enjoy the local tapas for some truly delicious cuisine.
Day 18: Provence (Marseille), France
Marseilles is France’s oldest city, though the vibe would argue differently. The vibrant arts scene and food culture instil a sense of youth in to this beautiful and historic port city where ships have docked for more than 26 centuries.
Day 19: Nice, France
Welcome to the colourful cosmopolitan city of Nice. Explore the beautiful architecture of the Old Town and the modern embodiment of French Riviera style throughout. A standout monument is the 19th century cathedral which houses the Princess of Monaco, otherwise known as Grace Kelly.
Day 20: Florence (Livorno), Italy
Florence, capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, is home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. Florence’s most iconic sights are the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio & Piazza della Signoria. Florence is also home to the famous David of Michelangelo statue. Florence is a beautiful city best explored by foot, however if you wish to venture away from the city, Florence may be your starting point for a day trip to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa, explore the Tuscan villages, or the colourful seaside towns of Cinque Terre.
Day 21: Rome, Italy
Enjoy a turnaround day in Rome. Gaze at the masterpieces of the Vatican or walk into the past with visits to ancient relics, historic monuments and legendary museums. Or people-watch while sipping on an espresso in a quaint cafe.
Day 22: Naples, Italy
Cruise to Naples, located on Italy’s stunning Amalfi coast, a city embellished in history. Touring around Naples’ grand piazzas, cathedrals and castles in the old centre will fill that cultural need. Pompeii is not too far either, a dashing city which boasts diverse cultural offerings and charming streets.
Day 23: Palermo, Sicily
Palermo is Sicily’s capital rich in history and famous for its neoclassical architecture and port side marketplaces. Explore the magnificent opera venue Teatro Massimo and palaces Palazzo dei Normanni and Cappella Palatina.
Day 24: Valletta, Malta
Valletta is famed for its historical aspects including churches, curated gardens, palaces and piazzas. The Magisterial Palace now houses the Maltese Parliament in it’s centuries old structure.
Day 25: Siracusa, Italy
Siracusa is filled with rich history and culture so a full day is definitely needed! Classic sights like the Ortygia, Neapolis, and the Basilica of Santa Lucia are a must visit. As for lunch, freshly made arancini balls, Sicilian pizza and the world-famous cannoli (crispy pastry filled with riccotta) is your go-to.
Day 26: Corfu, Greece
One of the lushest of the Greek Isles, Corfu is rimmed in dramatic blue waters and topped with tranquil hillside villages. A collection of quaint cafes in the town of Corfu feels very continental, but the island’s secluded coves and sandy beaches could only be found in the Greek Isles.
Day 27: Dubrovnik, Croatia
Despite the magnificent 13th century walls that surround the city, Dubrovnik is one of the most welcoming cruise destinations in all of Europe. Dubbed “the pearl of the Adriatic”, this Croatian city exudes romantic charm and beautiful scenery with its shimmering marble streets, centuries-old buildings capped by bright orange roofs and lovely beaches ensconced between awesome rocky ledges.
Day 28: Split, Croatia
This Mediterranean city on the eastern shores of the Adriatic has a long and eventful history dating back to the awesome Diocletian’s Palace (circa 295 A.D.) in the centre of the city. Split offers cruise guests a wealth of exciting places to visit, from the majestic cathedral and marble streets in the centre of town to the harbour area with its cafe-filled promenades and views of coastal mountains.
Day 29: Koper, Slovenia
Welcome to the picturesque port town of Koper. The region is bolstered by Venetian Gothic architecture including palaces and castles, boasting unbelievable views of the coastline.
