London (B, D)

After a relaxed start to the day, join your Tour Leader and group for an orientation tour of Greenwich and cruise along the River Thames. Look out for London’s most famous sights including Tower Bridge and Big Ben. Enjoy the afternoon to explore London on your own or join an optional walking tour featuring the Highlights of Westminster. Meet up with your fellow travellers in the evening for a group dinner at a traditional local pub.

London – Paris (approx. 515kms) (B, D)

Depart London after breakfast this morning, crossing the English Channel to Paris, ‘The City of Lights and Love’. Enjoy a driving tour of the French capital, passing many of the city’s most treasured landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and the Arc de Triomphe. After the city tour, enjoy dinner at a restaurant in the famously electric and historic Latin Quarter. Then travel back to the hotel, experiencing Paris’ world famous metro system.

Paris Free Day (B)

Enjoy a full day in Paris today, free to explore however you choose. Follow the Seine River from neighbourhood to neighbourhood as it flows through the heart of the city. Or, choose an optional  river cruise to float past the grandeur of the Louvre and Grand Palais, see Notre Dame cathedral and epic Eiffel Tower. Famous architecture and legendary landmarks are scattered through the compact city, along with elegant shops and sophisticated cafes. Your Tour Leader will have plenty of ideas and local knowledge, including recommendations of special places to eat and drink.

Paris - Champagne Region – Luxembourg – Rhine Valley (approx. 640km) (B, D)

This morning, we depart Paris and head east to the champagne region of Reims to taste one of France’s most famous and highly prized exports – champagne! Then continue to Luxembourg, for free time to explore the capital of one of Europe’s smallest countries. Luxembourg City features a charming UNESCO-listed centre with plenty of restaurants and cafés. After a long day of travelling and sightseeing, settle in for the night in the Rhine Valley where you can enjoy an included dinner.

Rhine Valley – Rhine Falls – Lucerne Region (approx. 450km) (B)

This morning head into Germany’s Schwarzwald, home of delicious Black Forest gâteau, cuckoo clocks and Hansel and Gretel. Visit an authentic German cuckoo clock shop in the heart of the forest. The tour continues to the stunning Rhine Falls- Europe’s largest waterfall. There’s time to explore, with the option to take a boat ride on the falls (at your own expense). Moving into Switzerland, the tour will head to the beautiful city of Lucerne where your tour leader will give you a quick orientation tour before travelling on to your accommodation.

Lucerne Free Day (B)

Today have free time to enjoy the Lucerne region. All the ingredients for the quintessentially picturesque Swiss experience are here – crystal-clear lake, snow-capped mountains, and iconic landmarks like the Chapel Bridge and Water Tower. Wander through the cobblestone streets of the old town, adorned with colourful buildings and adorned with frescoed facades, while enjoying the serene ambiance of this enchanting place. Experience the rich cultural scene through music, art, and festivals that thrive in this city. Lucerne invites you to indulge in its culinary delights, from traditional Swiss cuisine to international flavours.

Lucerne - Liechtenstein – Neuschwanstein Castle – Innsbruck (approx. 400km) (B)

Four countries in one day! Our first is the Alpine principality of Liechtenstein, the sixth smallest nation in the world. Stroll around and enjoy the scenery in the capital, Vaduz. Then visit Neuschwanstein Castle, a 19th Century German hilltop castle and the inspiration for the famous Disneyland castle. Entrance to the castle is included. Our final destination of the day is Innsbruck, Austria. Home to Austria’s third-largest student population, there’s no shortage of vibrant bars and beer gardens to enjoy. Your tour leader will introduce you to the city on a quick orientation tour.

Innsbruck – Florence – Tuscan Region (approx. 500km) (B, D)

This morning, we head into Italy, one of the most visited destinations in the world. We begin our Italian adventure in Florence, a city steeped in Renaissance art, culture, and history. This city is bursting with bustling piazzas, streets lined with quaint cafes, artisan shops, and historic buildings. Enjoy free time to immerse yourself in the city’s vibrant atmosphere, see iconic sights including the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and the Ponte Vecchio and perhaps visit one of the many galleries that are home to Renaissance masters like Titian, Botticelli, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci. Finish the day with a delicious, included Tuscan dinner.

Today the road will lead to us to Rome, but first Pisa beckons with its iconic Leaning Tower. Now over 800 years old, this architectural marvel that defies gravity is a must-see and presents the perfect opportunity to take a classic tourist photo. Later in Rome, your local Roman tour guide will introduce you to the city and many historic sites, including the Spanish Steps, Pantheon and Piazza Navona, and optionally, the Colosseum. Our first day in Rome comes to a close with an included dinner later this evening.

Rome Free Day (B)

Rome boasts ancient ruins, historical landmarks, religious buildings and a buzz like no other, and today is a full free day to explore the city! Why not pay a visit to the Colosseum or the Roman Forum and drift backwards in time to when gladiators, chariots and lions dominated the arena? One of the best areas for sampling authentic Roman food is in Trastevere where restaurants, favoured by the locals, serve original and classic dishes you may not find elsewhere. Or use this free day to travel to the Vatican

City – the smallest country in the world! Explore St Peter’s Basilica, see the incredible displays in the museums and admire Michelangelo’s artwork in the Sistine Chapel.

Rome Free Day (B)

An extra free day in Rome gifts us the chance to explore hidden gems, indulge in more gelato, and soak up the city’s timeless beauty just a little longer. Another option is to take a day trip from Rome to Pompeii (at your own expense). Walking the ancient streets of this remarkably preserved city provides a glimpse into the daily life of an ancient civilization frozen in time by the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius. The opportunity to witness history firsthand, explore ruins, and immerse oneself in the rich tapestry of Pompeii’s past makes it an unmissable experience for any traveller seeking to uncover the wonders of the ancient world.

Rome – Venice (approx. 440km) (B)

Venice – Ljubljana – Zagreb (approx. 370km) (B, D)

Head for Zagreb; Croatia’s capital today, after driving through the Slovenian capital Ljubljana, who’s castles, stunning architecture and natural beauty pack a punch more powerful than its small size would suggest. Once in Zagreb, your tour leader will take you on an orientation walk of this fascinating city. Explore the interesting mix of Hapsburg and Communist architecture, learn historical and cultural facts, and get a glimpse of everyday life in this charming city. Check into the hotel with time to freshen up before the included dinner this evening.

Vienna is also a modern city, with a vibrant café and restaurant culture to explore in the evening.

Vienna Free Day (B)

Enjoy a free day to explore Vienna. History fans should check out the incredible palaces of the era – Schönbrunn Palace and the Belvedere. Classical music lovers can enjoy a concert by one of the greatest composers of the Viennese classical period, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Vienna – Prague (approx. 330km) (B)

Today we’re off to the Czech Republic! Prague is a beautiful city, boasting elaborate baroque, gothic, art nouveau and cubist architecture, with quirky bars, cobbled lanes and secluded courtyards. Known for its brilliant beer and abundance of history, any exploration of Prague will be a memorable one. A local guide will introduce you to the must-see sights of the city, before a free afternoon to explore more at your own pace. You have the option to experience a traditional Czech folk music and dancing evening including a traditional four-course meal tonight.

Prague – Dresden – Berlin (approx. 340km) (B, D)

Our first destination today is a lunch stop in the German city of Dresden. Virtually rebuilt from the ground up after bombing attacks in WW2 destroyed the city centre, Dresden is immaculate and stylish. Try some local German food – such as Bratwurst, and wander around the beautifully paved streets. Then carry on to the capital of Germany, Berlin. Your tour leader will introduce you to the city on a driving orientation tour – stopping to see such poignant locations as the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and Checkpoint Charlie.

Amsterdam Free Day (B)

You have a full free day to experience the delights of Amsterdam, with numerous museums and art galleries to choose from. Why not visit Anne Frank’s house, the Van Gogh museum, take a bicycle tour or wander the streets and canals? Alternatively, you can join your tour leader on a Dutch countryside optional excursion, or indulge in modern and contemporary art at the MOCO Museum followed by a history lesson on Dutch Gin with a rewarding cocktail to conclude.

Amsterdam – Bruges – London (approx. 440km) (B)

Say farewell to Amsterdam and head to the medieval city of Bruges, in Belgium this morning. Enjoy free time to stroll along cobblestone streets, admire historic buildings, stock up on Belgian chocolate or sample a Belgian waffle. After Bruges, it’s time to complete the last leg of the journey back to London.

Depart London (B)

At the appropriate time, make your own way to the airport for your flight home.
