Its recorded history spanning around 3.400 years and it is being inhabited since the 11th millennium B.C. E. Today, under the shadow of the Parthenon, the contemporary urban scenery of the sprawling city reflects its exciting history, its multi-cultural modern personality as well as the infrastructure and facilities.

Day 2: Athens, Greece

Day 3: Piraeus (Athens), Greece

Make your way to Piraeus, the port city of Athens for your luxury cruise from Athens to Venice Onboard BRAND NEW Azamara Onward.

Day 4: Santorini, Greece

Santorini is one of the most formidable islands in the world, famed for beautiful food, pristine water, and unrivalled sunsets, in the foreground are the postcard whitewashed buildings. Perceptions are had about the lost city of Atlantis being located here due to Santorini’s subtle mystery.

Day 5: At Sea

Day 6: Corfu, Greece

One of the lushest of the Greek Isles, Corfu is rimmed in dramatic blue waters and topped with tranquil hillside villages. A collection of quaint cafes in the town of Corfu feels very continental, but the island’s secluded coves and sandy beaches could only be found in the Greek Isles.

Day 7: Kotor, Montenegro

Welcome to this beautiful port town in Montenegro. Gaze upon terracotta roofs, clear waters, and fresh local seafood right by the sea. This is the perfect destination to sit back and relax amongst the towering mountains of Montenegro.

Day 8: Dubrovnik, Croatia

Despite the magnificent 13th century walls that surround the city, Dubrovnik is one of the most welcoming cruise destinations in all of Europe. Dubbed “the pearl of the Adriatic”, this Croatian city exudes romantic charm and beautiful scenery with its shimmering marble streets, centuries-old buildings capped by bright orange roofs, and lovely beaches ensconced between awesome rocky ledges.

Day 9: Zadar, Croatia

Known for its Roman and Venetian influences, Zadar is the orange-roof, white-building, quintessential Croatian city you will fall in love with. Once there you will be able to explore beautiful churches and cathedrals dating back to the 8th century!

Day 10: Koper, Slovenia

Welcome to the picturesque port town of Koper. The region is bolstered by Venetian Gothic architecture including palaces and castles, boasting unbelievable views of the coastline.

Day 11: Trieste, Italy

This quaint port city is located in Italy’s northeast on the Adriatic Coast will have you captivated by its enchanting and diverse beauty. Isolated from the rest of Italy’s peninsula, Trieste has retained its own unique culture, something of which is reflected heavily in the town.

Day 12 – 13: Venice, Italy

Venice, a romantic destination in itself, is an artisan masterpiece. The city is built on 118 small islands, separated by canals, in a shallow lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. This UNESCO World Heritage Site overflows with beauty – from the gondola-lined canals and ancient marble palaces to the historical architecture of St. Mark’s Basilica and the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo. Day 14: Ravenna, Italy

Known for its colourful mosaics adorning many of its central buildings, much like the infamous Basilica di San Vitale, Ravenna, Italy is a spectacularly beautiful city in Italy.

Day 15: Ancona, Italy

Visit Ancona’s well-signposted Roman remains along the way, which will take you to the pink-and-white Duomo. Ancona’s large, three-storey Museo Archeologico in the old quarter is a fair place to while away an hour or two, its wacky molded ceilings vaulting over a collection of finds ranging from red- and black-figure Greek craters to a stunning Celtic gold crown. To the south of Ancona, some 32 km up the Esino valley from Jesi, with its white cliffs, blanched pebble beaches, thick protected forests, and easy-going resorts.

Day 16: Kotor, Montenegro

Day 18: Amalfi, Italy

The Amalfi coastline is undoubted, one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. The colourful beachside towns fuse oceans and mountains, creating the perfect backdrop for a local limoncello. Spend the day driving through the winding hills or relax on the beaches under your own lido.

Day 19: Sorrento, Italy

Sorrento is known as the gateway of Capri. Filled with pedestrian-only streets and stunning restaurants that use lemon as the key flavour in just about everything. The Isle of Capri is just off the coast and is a must-visit to see the famed Blue Grotto, a stunning glowing cave that can’t be found anywhere else in the world.

Day 20 – 22: Florence (Livorno), Italy

Florence, the capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, is home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. Florence’s most iconic sights are the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio & Piazza della Signoria. Florence is also home to the famous David of Michelangelo statue. Florence is a beautiful city best explored on foot, however, if you wish to venture away from the city, Florence may be your starting point for a day trip to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa, explore the Tuscan villages or the colourful seaside towns of Cinque Terre.

Day 23: Civitavecchia (Rome Port), Italy

Today your journey ends in Civitavecchia is a coastal town northwest of Rome, in Italy. Built-in the 2nd century, the Port of Civitavecchia still retains some of its original features, like the Roman Dock. The port area also includes the 16th-century Michelangelo Fort. Nearby, the National Archaeological Museum displays bronze and ceramic artifacts. Northeast of town is the Terme Taurine, the ruins of a Roman thermal bath complex. An only-hour journey from central Rome or to the Rome–Fiumicino International Airport.
