Day 1: Arrive Adelaide 

Check-in to the hotel on your own accord to begin your Adelaide adventure. Known as the city of churches and home to renowned museumsAdelaide is bursting with arts, culture, flavours and entertainment. Get a taste of world-famous wine regions and award-winning restaurants right at your fingertips. 

Overnight: Holiday Inn Express Adelaide City Centre 

Day 2: Barossa Food & Wine Experience (B, L) 

You will be picked up from your hotel for a full day food and wine journey to South Australia’s premier wine region, the Barossa. Your first stop is Pindarie, a multi-tourism award winning cellar door, where you can sample famous blends in the heritage stables while treated to breathtaking vineyard views and morning tea. Then visit Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop to enjoy tastings of her full product range including limited edition seasonal produce. The next stop is Lambert Estate at Angaston where you will enjoy a structured wine tasting and two-course signature lunch with salad and vegetables. Next, travel to Mengler Hill Lookout for sweeping views over the valley and then onto the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company for house made chocolate tasting coupled with Vineyard Road’s handcrafted wines. Transfer back to your hotel at the conclusion of food and wine experience.

Day 3: Adelaide – Flinders Ranges & Outback (B, L, D) 

Your guide will pick you up from your Adelaide hotel at around 7.30am to commence your 3-day tour into the majestic Flinders Ranges. Sit back and relax while you travel through the mid-north region of South Australia stopping at the old copper mining town of Burra for morning tea and then Orroroo for lunch. Enjoy views of Mount Remarkable as you head to the towns of Wilmington and Quorn. The majestic Flinders Ranges come into view as you get closer to the small outback town of Hawker. On the way, stop at Kanyaka Station Homestead Ruins and see what’s left of this once massive sheep and cattle station of about 950 square kilometres. Late afternoon, arrive at Rawnsley Park Station, your home for the next two nights. Rawnsley Park Station overlooks the southern side of Wilpena Pound and provides the perfect base for exploring the Finders Ranges. Late afternoon enjoy a Sunset on the Chase tour where you’ll watch the stunning sunset reflect on the Chase Range as you sip on local wine and enjoy delicious canapes. The 40-minute drive through the property provides a great opportunity to see native wildlife then finish your day with a delicious 2-course dinner in the Woolshed Restaurant, an authentic Australian converted woolshed serving delicious Modern Australian cuisine.

Day 4: Flinders Ranges & Outback (B, L, D) 

Early this morning there will be time to take a 30- minute scenic flight with Chinta Air, to gain an appreciation of the scale and beauty of Wilpena Pound and the Heysen Range. Then spend the rest of the day touring around the southern Flinders Ranges including the local sights, picturesque Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges and peaceful walks taking through the creek beds. Stop at Prairie Hotel, recognised as an “unmissable outback experience” and enjoy one of their signature Antipasto Platters for lunch, before taking the Moralana Scenic drive back to Rawnsley Park. This evening, join a tour of the old woolshed and enjoy a 3-course Lamb Tasting food experience where local lamb from the property will be showcased, and prepared in three different and delicious courses. Clare Valley wines will be matched with each course. The dinner will finish with South Australian port and local cheeses (vegetarians will be catered for).

Day 5: Flinders Ranges & Outback – Adelaide (B, L) 

This morning, farewell your hosts and Rawnsley Park Station and head to Mt Remarkable, where you will enjoy some morning tea. Continue your journey through to the charmingly secluded Clare Valley, one of Australia’s oldest wine growing regions. With its picturesque, rolling countryside, unique geography, and climate you will see why it is a premium grape growing area. Here you will enjoy wine tastings and lunch before returning to Adelaide, arriving approximately 5.30pm.

Day 6: Adelaide – Kangaroo Island (B, L) 

Enjoy an early morning pick-up from your hotel for a scenic coach transfer to Cape Jervis taking in the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula with its vineyards, coastal views and rolling hills. On arrival, board the SeaLink ferry for the 45-minute crossing to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Visit Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery where you will listen to an introductory talk about the history of the oil distillery and take a guided tour. Finish off with some free time in their souvenir shop where you will find an assortment of Eucalyptus products. Continue onto Vivonne Bay Bistro located on a 260 hectare bush property, for a delicious two course lunch. After lunch visit Seal Bay Conservation Park and enjoy a guided beach walk with a National Park Ranger amongst a breeding colony of wild and rare Australian sea lions. Your tour will then visit another amazing wildlife attraction, the fascinating In-flight Birds of Prey Display at Raptor Domain. Enjoy a delightful interactive experience and meet an array of birds and raptors. From here you will travel to Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park where you can get up close with Koalas, see Penguins swim and play, hand feed Kangaroos and Wallabies, learn about endangered species, interact with snakes, crocodiles and reptiles and experience Kangaroo Island wildlife at your fingertips! Transfer to your Kangaroo Island accommodation for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Kangaroo Island – Adelaide (B, L) 

After a delicious breakfast, visit Clifford’s Honey Farm to enjoy an informative talk by the beekeeper followed by tastings and an opportunity to sample homemade honey ice-cream and honey beauty products. From here, travel to the western most part of the Island, Flinders Chase National Park, one of Australia’s largest and earliest conservation parks. Travel through the park and enjoy breath-taking views of its unique trees, plants and coastal scenery. You will be taken to the rugged southern coastline for a walk around Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. Remarkable Rocks provide great photographic opportunities and stunning sea views. Admirals Arch boardwalk takes you down a rugged cliff face to reveal this spectacular arch, a natural nursery and safe haven for playful Long-nosed Fur Seals that can be seen swimming and playing in the waves or resting on the rocks. Return to the Penneshaw Ferry Terminal for the return journey to Adelaide.

Day 8: Victor Harbor, Southern Coast & McLaren Vale (B, L) 

Enjoy a pick up from your hotel and enjoy a delightful tour of South Australia’s premier tourist region, the Fleurieu Peninsula. This tour begins with a picturesque coach ride through the Adelaide Hills to the historical Scottish settlement of Strathalbyn. Continue on to the paddle steamer town of Goolwa where you will have a brief tour of the town including the wharf, barrage and beach. On your way to Victor Harbor, travel past the charming coastal town of Port Elliot including Horseshoe Bay and stop at Whale Lookout for a photo opportunity. Upon arrival at Victor Harbor, South Australia’s most popular seaside village, wander through the main street, sampling the fresh local product. Enjoy a bonus 3 course lunch at the popular Hotel Victor. Your tour then continues to the wine making region of McLaren Vale, best known for producing outstanding Shiraz. Wander the main street, sample the fresh local produce including the delicious cheeses at Blessed Cheese, taste some of the fine wines or grab a coffee at one of the many cafés. From here take a scenic drive through South Australia’s southern metropolitan beaches of Port Noarlunga and Moana before transferring back to Adelaide.

FITNESS REQUIREMENTS 

A moderate level of fitness is required for back to back tours. You will be expected to alight from coaches on your own accord and manage your own luggage. You may need to navigate uneven surfaces and flights of stairs. 

LUGGAGE LIMITS 

Touring is in a vehicle with limited luggage space and require ‘packing down’ to one smaller bag per person.
