The Ship

Maasdam

Maasdam was inspired by the Maas River in the Netherlands and is the fifth ship to carry the name. The ship offers a stunning interior by paying homage to it’s Dutch heritage with the central focus being Luciano Vistosi’s “Totem”, a monumental sculpture using nearly 2,000 shimmering pieces of glass, boldly displayed in the impressive three-story atrium. Choose from an array of dining options including the luxurious Pinnacle Grill, authentic Italian at Canaletto or a delicious burger at the Lido Market. As for on board activities, you’ll never run out of options with relaxing treatments at the Greenhouse Spa & Salon, swimming pools, fitness centre, sport areas, boutique shops and digital workshops featuring BBC Earth Experiences. Fakarava is the second largest atoll in French Polynesia. It was discovered fairly recently in 1820 by a Russian explorer named Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen and originally named this quaint island “Wittgenstein”.
The largest of the Marquesas Islands, Nuku Hiva is a beautiful volcanic island with enormous mountains boasting jagged walls that directly plunge into the ocean beneath. An explorer famously called it “a country that no description could fit the beauty”. Uncover waterfalls, lagoons and stone “tiki” statues scattered throughout the lush forests. You’ll find the worlds third largest waterfall in Hakaui and you must try the delicious local delicacy of roast pork, cooked on hot rocks right on the beach.

Huahine is a luscious tropical island in the Society Islands of French Polynesia. With a population of 6300 residents, you will no doubt find secluded coves, coral reefs and crystal clear waters all to yourself! It has been nicknamed the “Garden of Eden” for a reason…
