Welcome to Copenhagen, capital of Denmark. After two nights here, included as part of your Baltic cruise package with My Cruises, you will be well acquainted with this historic yet cosmopolitan city. Board the Norwegian Star and explore the ship as your start your Baltic voyage!
Arriving in Warnemunde in Germany you can either explore this medieval fishing town on foot, or take the 3-hour train ride to Berlin, Germanys capital city. Packed full of history, Berlin is not to be missed! See the remains of the fallen Berlin Wall, the thought-provoking Holocaust Memorial, or the Brandenburg Gate, just to name a few!! Further afield visit Charlottenburg Palace (Schloss Charlottenburg) and walk around the lake in the stunning palace grounds. Make sure to try some of the local food including Bratwurst and Weissbier!
Tallinn is the capital of Estonia in Eastern Europe. The Medieval walled old town is like something out of a fairy-tale! Explore historical turreted buildings by foot or step back further in time with a trip to Rakvere one of Estonia’s oldest towns complete with a 13th century castle.
St Petersburg, Russia, is today’s stop. Famous for its Tchaikovsky operas, the Kirov ballet and incredible architecture, there is a lot to do in St Petersburg! Visit The Hermitage, one of over 200 museums in the city. The spectacular Church on Spilled Blood, a cathedral built in the spot where Alexander the II was assassinated in 1881. Make sure to see St Catherine’s Palace built for her by her husband Peter the Great, founder of St Petersburg.
Welcome to Helsinki, Finland’s Capital! Spread over 300 islands, a third of the city is covered in green grassy areas and forests. Take a walking tour of the capital to see Helsinki’s sites including Senate Square, the Rock Church and the Central Railway station, which is said to have been an architectural influence for Batman’s Gotham. If you want to explore further visit the small town of Porvoo, famous for its iconic red wooden houses, it is the second oldest town in Finland.
Stockholm is the last capital on our cruise, capital of Sweden. Another Scandinavian city built over several islands, make sure to visit Gamla Stan, the medieval Old Town. There is plenty to do in Sweden including visiting the Royal Palace, home of the Swedish Royal Family. The ABBA museum which exhibits information and artefacts from the bands 13 years together. Don’t miss the Vasa Museum on the island of Djurgerden, which houses the 17th century warship Vasa who sunk in the harbour on her maiden voyage and sat on the bottom of the ocean for 300 years. She has now been recovered and can be seen up-close in the museum.
